President Bush seems adamant about his Secret Surveillance Program being implemented. He says that it is for the assurance of our civil liberties. Huh?? I'm sorry, but isn't 'secret surveillance' (ie, spying) the taking away of 'civil liberties'? Then he of course backed his (yes his) logic by saying that when Bin Laden says he's going to do something, he's going to do it*. Yet, the 9/11 Commision maintains that it is well beyond far-fetched to say that many [so-called] terrorists could have been stopped and the Towers not attacked if this serveillance had existed prior to Sept. 11.
Oh, if I had a nickel for every piece of bull that comes out of Ol' Georgie's mouth...
*Is it coincidence that this tape alleged to be Bin Laden has suddenly popped up just when Bush is trying to justify his spy program? Hmmm, I wonder...
